Some very good news! I'm pregnant!

I've been waiting several weeks before sharing the good news with you, but I decided that today it was finally time to tell. I'm pregnant! Besides the "morning" sickness that lasts pretty much all day long now, I am thrilled about it and so is my husband, Stephen. (If the dog understood, I bet that she'd be stoked about it too!)

I have my first official doctor's checkup on Tuesday. It is suppose to be terribly snowy here in Kansas City that day so I'm hoping that I get to the office safely and that all goes well. I'm also hoping that my husband might be able to get off work to take me - fingers crossed about that one. This is our first (non-furry) child, and he is just as excited about it all as I am. Although it is still early, I can't wait to decorate the nursery. I have even promised myself to learn how to sew well with a newly borrowed sewing machine from my mother so that I can make some curtains, pillows, and other accessories for the babies room. Since it was uncertain that we would be able to have children due to my endometriosis, this pregnancy is a true blessing to both my husband and I. We are very thankful!

The image is what I found when searching Etsy for "cute baby onesies." I'm sure that a lot of my searches on Etsy will be baby related now. I am considering using cloth diapers too so I've been searching Etsy for those as well. Any suggestions of good handmade baby stuff to this expectant first-time mother is greatly appreciated!

  4. Congratulations! We are very excited for you guys!

PS We used Fuzzi Bunz cloth diapers with our second baby, and I really liked it. I didn't find it much more difficult than using disposibles, and there was so much less trash.

  12. Congratulations! That's so exciting. I'm not a mother so I don't have any suggestions for handmade baby items, but I hope the CPSIA thing won't ruin your chance of getting cute baby items on Etsy.

  13. I used cloth diapers with all of my kids. I loved them. Look for some good quality wool diaper covers. They breathe and are good for baby's bottom.
