After a very long and difficult week, my faithful friend, loving pet, and family member, Junior Bunny, has passed away from an illness. (You can read more about my week here.) He had a long and very good life. I will miss him more than I could ever express in words. I am blessed to have had him in my life for six years. I believe that some day, I will see him again in spirit. I will look forward to that day, and in the mean time, I will continue to love him and have many fond memories.
On the left are a few of his scrapbook pages that I wanted to share in honor of Junior. In the first one, he's in his hammock relaxing. In the second one, he is a bit shy after bath time. And in the third one, he's running around our living room and hopping onto the furniture. He was a spunky little guy who thought that he was a dog or perhaps even a fellow human. I think that he was unlike any other rabbit, but I am biased.
A few things that I loved about him most . . .
when he would jump straight up and twitch his tail
when he would lick my hand, cheek, and nose as I rubbed his back
that he always made me feel loved and appreciated
and that he was such a precious companion with a unique personality -
Junior, I will miss you dearly. I am grateful that you were are a part of my life. You are in my heart forever. Thank you.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I understand that Junior was like your child. I lost my Corgie last November. I will say a prayer for you all.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. He's a cutie and sounds so sweet. Have you heard of the Rainbow Bridge?
ReplyDeleteThe Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called the Rainbow Bridge. When an animal
dies, one who has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to the
Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends where
they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and
our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those
who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember
them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content,
except for one small thing: they each miss someone who was very special to them,
someone they had to leave behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and
looks into the distance. The eyes are bright and intent, the eager little body
begins to quiver all over! Suddenly that lucky one breaks away from the group,
and flies over the green grass, little legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you
cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. Happy kisses rain
upon your face; your hands once again caress that beloved head, and you look
once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but
never absent from your heart.
You have my condolences on the loss of Junior Bunny.
