You might be thinking that I'm vacationing in Australia from my post title (oh! and wouldn't that be so nice to do!), but no, I am actually in Arkansas for a few days. My husband and I are taking a short trip this week to visit his mom, sister, and niece. He's from Arkansas which is the "land down under" to me - someone currently living in Missouri.
I was able to hijack my niece's laptop for a few minutes to make a quick post and a little reminder too. I plan to send out my March edition monthly email newsletter next week. If you haven't subscribed yet to receive my once monthly newsletter, please do! This month I plan to focus on fiber and felting resources. The newsletter will recap some information that I've posted on my blog over the last year as well as have some new information. It should be full of great links to online resources for supplies and other fiber related information. And, there will probably be a little about myself and how the pregnancy is going too. If you'd like to sign up to receive my newsletters, please click here to enter your name and email address.
Well, my mini-vacation to see the in-laws is almost over. We head north tomorrow towards home. I must say that I'm quite happy to be going home soon. I've gotten a little home sick in the past few days, and now that I'm almost five months pregnant, traveling is not as easy as it use to be. I predict that there will be at least a few bathroom breaks on the road trip tomorrow! Hopefully, I'll have time to make some more blog posts (or at least one more post) this week after we return and get settle back into home. Bye for now!

Vacation Destination: Maine!
Wow, it has been a while since I've blogged. Well, I do have a very good reason - a vacation to beautiful Maine! My husband and I actually drove all the way from Kansas City to the Mid-Coast region of Maine. We logged over 4,500 miles total and a hefty bill for gasoline. We thought about flying to the area originally, but neither my hubby, Stephen, or I had seen any of New England and very little of the other states between Missouri and Maine. We thought that was reason enough for a road trip - a very, very long road trip.
We stayed in a lovely little motel near Camden, Maine, called the Ducktrap Motel. When you find accommodations online, sometimes you never know quite what to expect, but this quaint little motel vastly exceeded our expectations! It was quite comfortable, super clean, and was a wonderful price for the area. The owners were delightful as well and a joy to talk to about local culture and site seeing.
Our ten day trek across country ended up being one of the most relaxing, fun experiences that we've had in our 3+ years of wedded bliss. I can't wait until we get to visit a new part of the U.S. on our next vacation, but for now, I'll share some of my recent experience with you. More specifically, I'll share a few of my fiber oriented vacation destinations with you this week so stay tuned to find out what interesting fibery goodness Maine and the states in between had to offer!
