Too Tiggerific not to share!

I just had to share a photo of my precious baby girl that was taken on Christmas day.  Okay, so I know that I'm biased, but I think she is quite adorable in her Tigger Christmas hat.

and, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I hope you have a very blessed 2010 and that your 2009 was absolutely fabulous.  Out with the old and in with the new...

My Baby Girl at 12 weeks!

My how fast they grow!  Here's my sweet little Rowynn today at 12 weeks.  The picture is a little fuzzy because she is quite the wiggly worm sometimes, but I just had to share her contagious smile.

A Handmade Felted Wool Hat is waiting for the Baby's arrival which is hopefully soon!

I began to make the baby a felted wool hat for this winter several weeks ago. Since I created it through a process of needle felting first, then finally wet felting at the last stage, I was able to work on it at my leisure and decorate it when I had the time and the will to do so. I finally finished it this weekend. Although I didn't use any kind of pattern or precise sizing method (mostly a guessing game this time around), I think that it is just the right size to fit her in the winter when she will need it. I've made quite a few adult size hats, but this is the first baby size hat that I've made. I'd like to make her a few more handcrafted hats as well as some felted wool booties to match. For now, her teddy bear is keeping watch over this hat and wearing it until she arrives.

Baby Update - 16 weeks and counting!

I had my ob/gyn appointment today for my 16 week pregnancy check up and all is well. At first, the nurse couldn't find the baby's heartbeat so I ended up having an ultrasound today. This was quite unexpected. I was scheduled for an ultrasound next time at my March appointment to determine the sex of the baby and plan to have another one then so that my husband can attend. This time, I got to see the baby's head, tummy, legs, and arms. The umbilical cord was between the baby's legs so it was hard to tell if it was a boy or a girl.

I have felt this entire time that it would be a boy and even had dreams about little strawberry blonde haired boys, but the ultrasound technician said that she was leaning toward it being a girl from a couple of brief unobstructed views that she had. We should find out for sure next time, and I can't wait!! I was hoping to know today. I want to start buying baby stuff and decorating the nursery soon, but I have been waiting on finding out the sex of the baby first. (If it is a boy, it will probably be a farm animals theme. If it is a girl, it will probably be ladybugs and flowers them.) Although I had kind of anticipated a boy, I really don't care either way. I will be very happy with a healthy baby boy or girl. I'm just anxious to know for decorating purposes at this point! I'm feel very blessed and thankful that everything is normal so far. And, I'm having every pregnancy symptom in the book (fatigue, nausea, heartburn, dizziness, headaches, faintness, etc.!), but the doctor said that is quite normal too. Maybe when I update my readers next month, I'll know whether it is a boy or girl for sure! Yay!

Some very good news! I'm pregnant!

I've been waiting several weeks before sharing the good news with you, but I decided that today it was finally time to tell. I'm pregnant! Besides the "morning" sickness that lasts pretty much all day long now, I am thrilled about it and so is my husband, Stephen. (If the dog understood, I bet that she'd be stoked about it too!)

I have my first official doctor's checkup on Tuesday. It is suppose to be terribly snowy here in Kansas City that day so I'm hoping that I get to the office safely and that all goes well. I'm also hoping that my husband might be able to get off work to take me - fingers crossed about that one. This is our first (non-furry) child, and he is just as excited about it all as I am. Although it is still early, I can't wait to decorate the nursery. I have even promised myself to learn how to sew well with a newly borrowed sewing machine from my mother so that I can make some curtains, pillows, and other accessories for the babies room. Since it was uncertain that we would be able to have children due to my endometriosis, this pregnancy is a true blessing to both my husband and I. We are very thankful!

The image is what I found when searching Etsy for "cute baby onesies." I'm sure that a lot of my searches on Etsy will be baby related now. I am considering using cloth diapers too so I've been searching Etsy for those as well. Any suggestions of good handmade baby stuff to this expectant first-time mother is greatly appreciated!
